I'd love to see some sort of self-tagging. Like you could describe your body type, what you're looking for, what you're into, etc.
Some basic ones might be like "#top" "#voice" "#solo"
An alternative would be to allow members to search the profiles of other members for key words. Maybe we could have optional filters, eg “search all members”, “Search online members”, etc. This might be provide an incentive for people to actually put some info in their profile instead of just filling in the compulsory fields as so many do.
There would have to be a limit on the number of characters in the profile to prevent people from just posting the dictionary.
I don’t like the system of providing check boxes for standard tags. Invariably two things happen:
1) Even with several dozen tags to choose from, they force people to choose categories that don’t really fit. eg. I am into denim jeans but usually the closest match is “leather” which is not the same. I should be able to make my own tag called “jeans” or “tight jeans”.
2) Many people just select all the options just so that they will show up in more searches. You see this on “hookup sites”.
