In the other system, if we opened a chat in another room, it appeared as a tab at the top of the screen and we could easily go back and forth from room to room. With V.4, chatting in multiple rooms is a pain in neck; I wish I could see more easily when there is a message posted in one room while I’m in another. Sometimes, the other room I’m chatting in, beside the lobby, is way down the room list and I have to scroll up and down to see if there are any new messages.

The way the you have to flip between messages and the room is terrible. It’s not even clear how to get back to the room. Messages to an individual should be free floating and not “docked” with any of the chat pane.

I think there are too many yes/no prompts, particularly for minor options. Any choice that can easily be reversed does not require this extra level of “are you really sure”. For example, if I want to choose “Ignore” it should just be that one click and done.

Being able to sort by the filters we have now and then filtering the ones with cam on or pushing that to the top of the list like the old site would be amazing. You used to be able to sort by age and then have the ones with cam open pushed up to the top of the list and grouped. Now you can only sort by one or the other and have to manually scroll to look for people with cam on.

When asking to view a private cam, the notification that you have sent the request blocks out the entire screen and requires you to click on the “ok” with your mouse. Totally overkill and makes navigation more difficult than needed. The same type of notification happens for a rejection, which i have less of a problem with. A private notification in the main chat would be sufficient for the initial request. Maybe if you ask twice, this larger rejection could happen, but for the first request, it feels unnecessarily severe and slows down navigation too much. I think across the board, those pop-up notifications are too “arresting.” Instead of these large notifications which act like walls, a smaller pop up notification that could be dispatched with the “return” key (or which automatically disappears after 2 seconds) would be preferable. if the smaller one is not possible, or the "main chat notification style” seems insufficient, I’d suggest making these large notifications closable by “touching any key”

Cam icons for those who have their cams on, should also appear in Messages. That way, if you get a Message, you don’t have to leave the Message list to view their cam. There is too much navigating to other lists required when going from Rooms to Messages, etc.

I would like to be able to put a profile on block by clicking on their name in the chat scroll in the room, rather than having to find their profile in the name list. We can do that in the old site - it would be convenient to have that in the beta.

What happened to the old-fashioned idea of putting a label on something that actually tells you what it is? I have realised that this is a major reason why I sometimes struggle to do what I want on the new site, and I’ll bet I’m not the only one.Here’s an example, from the MenChats Guide:“Click Groups to browse all chat rooms”. A group of what? Of people with similar interests, presumably, but the button is for browsing and choosing a chat room, so wouldn’t it make sense to label it “Chat Rooms”?Another one: “Click on Messages to view your Private Conversations”. OK, then label the button “Private Conversations”!This is the right way to assign a label. What is it for? What’s in the tin? If it contains tuna, put “Tuna” on the outside of the tin. Simple!“Message” is a very general term; someone new to this site would probably expect it to mean anything you say to another user, possibly private, possibly not, and not necessarily part of a stored list. A “Whisper” (which is an example of a good name BTW) is a kind of message, and so is a “Mention” (which I would prefer to be called “Mention publicly” or “Shout”, to emphasise that it’s not private, but I have got used to it by now.)If someone in the room posted “Hi, how is everyone today?”, I might respond via Mention “Doing well tks”, and I think of that as a message, it’s a piece of information I don’t particularly need to be kept as a record. If I wanted to ask him “Would you care to fuck” and he responds “Wednesday would be good”, then I definitely want it private and I probably want to be able to later see what we said to each other. That’s a conversation, it’s more than just a message.And a piece of positive feedback from me for a change: I do like the fact that I can continue the private conversation even when the other is offline and they see it when they return. This is most useful.

If a user is present in a Group, but is not actively chatting in the room, how does one Whisper? Or Mention? The only option is to send a PRIVATE.

Controls for changing which camera is used (front/back), changing the microphone used, turning off the microphone, are not available in new chat.

i think having an infinite archive of chat is strange. a history of perhaps 30 min to an hour should be adequate. Just because you can do it doesn’t mean you should.

Currently when turning on my webcam, I am in the camera area but can’t close it without stopping my broadcasting.

After clicking on the inbox icon I’m always totally confused how to get back to the members list where I just was. If it’s one click to enter inbox mode it should probably be one click to get back to where you were.

The popup menu next to the user’s name should show all the options that are available: View CameraMessageProfileReportetcirrespective of where the name appears - in their profile, in the list of people in the room, in the list of messages, in the chat, and anywhere else. At present some options don’t appear in certain locations. For example if I click on a name in the Messages list I cannot open their cam, or even tell whether their cam is on. I find I constantly have to go back to Groups→Lobby to access the options I want.
