Site does not work as Help/Support indicates

I logged in a few times as a guest and want to become a registered user. The login screen gives the error message “username and password already in use.” I know: by ME! Why can’t I “upgrade” to a registered user?

Also, the menu hamburger offers “update photo,” but not update profile, so I can’t delete the guest account and start over.

Obviously, I’m confused.
